How to Get More from Your Content Marketing Budget

As companies realize the astronomical benefits of organic content, businesses are expected to shift their budgets to better reflect the importance of content marketing. In fact, 68% of survey respondents expect their content marketing budgets to increase by at least 10% within the following year.

That's great news! Now it's time to plan.

Some things to think about:

1. Make sure you have a good team in place, both internally and externally. Using some of your budget to hire someone to create content for you is a great idea! They'll be familiar with the best sites for posting and which content works best for them.

2. If you're planning on saving money by distributing the content yourself, make sure you have the right person in place who has the time to manage it. Otherwise, you're wasting money.

3. Put together a content calendar with built-in flexibility. Things happen, posts get missed, or deadlines change. You don't want your calendar locked up so tight that you cannot adjust. Also, allows you to hop into pop culture conversations that cannot be planned.

4. Give your content creators style or brand guidelines to work with, but allow some outside-the-box creative thinking. You are very close to your brand. After you've built up trust, let your creators go a little further and have some fun.

5. You don't have to be everywhere to have great success in content marketing. Pick and choose digital marketing spend based on where your audience is most likely to be AND how much time you can commit to managing multiple channels.
